Meetings and Events

Saturday, March 8:

  • Morning: contest judge training
  • Afternoon: Lucienne Diver (Spectrum Literary Agency) will speak about contracts
  • At this meeting we’ll also announce the candidates running for the Board

    • Note: Voting for the PAN Liaison will occur via email during the first week in April.

    Saturday, April 12:

  • Morning: Karen Rose on “Getting Into Character”
  • Afternoon: We’ll discuss the by-laws (which will already have been sent out to the membership for review) and vote for approval; We’ll also vote for the Board; If there is time left we’ll have an “Ask Anything” session
  • After meeting: Signing at the B&N 2:30 – 4:30 - Roxanne St. Claire, Julie Leto, Joan Johnston, Ann Jacobs

    • Saturday, May 10:

  • Day Workshop with Pamela Morsi, signing afterward TBD;
  • (Note: new Board assumes leadership)

    • The May day workshop and December 2008 holiday party are members only.

    All meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month at: Piccadilly Cafeteria (web site), 11810 Dale Mabry Highway North, Tampa, FL (map).

    Meetings begin at 9:00 am. Members break for lunch around 11:30 (lunches purchased from Picadilly). Meetings generally end by 2:00 pm. Occasionally, book signing follow meetings next door at the Barnes & Noble.

    Any changes in dates are published in The Scarlett Letter, the monthly e-newsletter of Tampa Area Romance Authors.

    Visitors are always welcome to our general, non-workshop meetings, but after two visits, we require guests to apply for membership in TARA to continue receiving the benefits of the organization. Dues are $30.00 per year.

    New members must also join the national organization, Romance Writers of America (web site), in order to join TARA.
